Everyone who knew Owen has treasured memories of their own which they will keep forever. Some of these will be shared in stories and media on this site.
One legacy he leaves us to enjoy is Collin Michael Stedham (see Gallery for Collin pics). Ingrid and Owen certainly made a wonderful child, and through the joy of watching this incredible boy grow, we all can think of Owen. We know what kind of father he would have been and how much he would enjoy watching Collin grow.
We are overjoyed that Ingrid and Braden are joined together! They have brought into the world babies Adeline and Euan, a little sister and brother for Collin to love, pester and protect!
Another legacy which is harder to capture was Owen's incredible intellect. He did not have the chance to complete his PhD and we are left to wonder what he would have accomplished. It would have been big.
The Mechanical Engineering Department at UNR has established an annual award in Owen's name for the best senior capstone project in which the students engineer a new product and present a working prototype. We would like to thank Dr. Eric Wang for conceptualizing and implementing this honor.
